Galas & Racing

Club Night Galas

Yes, that’s right — we swim at night!

Sandton Seals Club Night Galas are fun, social events designed to introduce swimmers to racing in a relaxed and supportive environment. Under the guidance of our coaches, swimmers are encouraged to race and receive direct feedback after each event to help them grow and improve.

These galas are not just about the stopwatch — they’re about community, confidence, and celebrating progress. The focus is on personal improvement and enjoying the sport, rather than podium places. Many of our swimmers already compete at school level, so we aim to provide something a little different: a space to track your own development. To support this, we use a points-based system that rewards swimmers for improvement. At the end of the season, we host an awards celebration to recognise those who’ve shown the most growth.

Who can participate?

  • All Sandton Seals members are welcome to enter for free.

  • Guests and friends are also welcome! There’s a R100 fee for non-members who’d like to join in.

Why join — and how can you help?

  • Club Nights are the heartbeat of our community — where swimmers connect, parents get to know each other, and long-lasting friendships begin.

  • To make it all run smoothly, we rely on volunteers. Whether it’s timekeeping, helping with catering, or assisting with logistics, we’d love your help!
