Here at Sandton Seals Swimming, we have dedicated coaches with a passion for the sport. Below follows some more information about each coach.
Kyle is a Level 1 Certified Coach and Learn-to-Swim instructor registered with Swim South Africa. He holds a BA in Nutrition and has been coaching since 2008. As a swimmer, Kyle represented South Africa internationally and was ranked in the Top 5 nationally across multiple events. He’s a Gauteng Honours recipient and competed at the Senior National Championships for six consecutive years.
As head coach and owner of Sandton Seals Swimming Club, Kyle leads a strong team of coaches and currently coaches at Crawford College Sandton, where the school has consistently dominated A League swimming under his guidance. He’s also served on provincial teams and is Vice Chair of the CGA Technical Committee. Kyle is qualified in First Aid and CPR and is passionate about ongoing learning—whether it’s in swimming, strength, or recovery—always striving to help swimmers reach their full potential while enjoying the journey.
Bronwen brings over 13 years of swim instruction experience and more than 20 years as a preschool teacher. She is a certified Learn-to-Swim instructor and First Aider with a nurturing yet structured approach to teaching.
She works with children and adults of all levels, focusing first on water safety and strong technique before speed or endurance. Her energy, attention to detail, and love for seeing her students grow make her a valued part of the team. Bronwen is passionate about helping every swimmer feel safe, confident, and proud of what they achieve.
Jessica is a certified Learn-to-Swim instructor with a deep personal connection to the sport. She has been swimming since childhood and comes from a family of swimmers—her grandfather was an Olympic and Commonwealth Games competitor.
Jessica has completed two Robben Island crossings, swam competitively through school, and also played water polo. Her love for teaching emerged while working with young swimmers, and it inspired her to begin studying Foundation Phase Education part-time. Jessica brings warmth, patience, and a real joy to her classes—she’s excited to keep sharing her passion for swimming with others.
Gareth’s swimming journey began at age 8, and his dedication led him to represent Gauteng Aquatics and South Africa at junior level. He earned full school colours for swimming and understands the discipline and joy the sport can bring.
Now stepping into coaching, Gareth is passionate about helping young swimmers discover their potential. He’s currently completing his Level 1 Coaching course and is already making a positive impact with his energetic, athlete-focused approach.
Rotondwa is a dynamic and enthusiastic instructor who brings a love for swimming and working with children into every lesson. She completed her Lifesaving South Africa certification in 2024 and has experience working with kids as a camp counsellor, creating safe, fun learning environments.
She has a strong background in open water swimming, including completing the Dolphin Mile in Durban, and believes swimming is about more than just strokes—it’s about building confidence, resilience, and pride. Rotondwa is dedicated to helping every child feel at home in the water.
